Christina Sanders

ASPA Assistant Director
Ballet • Pointe • Contemporary/Lyrical

Born in south Florida, Christina fell in love with ballet at the young age of four. She trained extensively in the Vagonova method, and after graduating high school she attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She later attended summer intensives at Nashville Ballet, Boston Ballet, and Orlando Ballet, and was invited to stay as a trainee with Orlando Ballet. After two seasons, Christina joined the company and had the chance to dance in many ballets, including works by George Balanchine, Twyla Tharp, Fernando Bujones, and Lila York. While there she was also a teacher with the Orlando Ballet School. She then spent the next few years in Denver, Colorado where she was a company member of the Dawson/ Wallace Dance Project (formerly David Taylor Dance Theatre) and Zikr Sacred Dance Ensemble, touring throughout Colorado and collaborating with many artists and companies. Christina later moved back to Florida, and joined Florida Dance Theatre as a company member and instructor in the school. While in Florida, she went back to college and continued teaching ballet, modern, and contemporary while serving as Ballet Mistress alongside her coach and mentor, Loretta Dodd Miller (former soloist with Boston Ballet). In October 2015, Christina made the move to Georgia,  is extremely excited to be on the ALL STAR team, and is looking forward to continue sharing her love of ballet with the younger generation.
